Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah recently unveiled the Visit Sarawak Year logo to celebrate the launch of a new Visit Sarawak campaign. The colourful logo for the campaign is augmented by the hornbill, which replaces the letter ‘A’ and represents previously used ‘Land of the Hornbills’ theme. The campaign is envisioned to place Sarawak on the global tourism map as one of the preferred tourism destinations in South East Asia. A tagline of ‘More to Discover’ underscores an abundance of tourism discoveries focussed on culture, adventure, food, nature and festivals. Sarawak will target six international markets as well as domestic tourists in its marketing strategies centred upon a concept of modern but authentic. These key markets are the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, China, Australia, and all the ASEAN countries.
