{"id":3958,"date":"2019-08-28T01:18:03","date_gmt":"2019-08-27T17:18:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hapa.asia\/?p=3958"},"modified":"2020-03-24T22:35:56","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T14:35:56","slug":"hisham-tan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hapa.asia\/index.php\/2019\/08\/28\/hisham-tan\/","title":{"rendered":"Hisham Tan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Muhammad Hisham Tan Abdullah has been the major driving force behind the Malaysian Food and Beverage Executives Association (MFBEA) and is naturally referred to as the \u201cgo-to guy\u201d in all matters relating to the Food &amp; Beverage Service and Hospitality Industry. <br><br>An 8th term re-election as MFBEA President for 2019-2021 is testament of the Industry\u2019s<br> recognition and support to his extensive experience and knowledge since his initiation into the<br> Industry as a busboy in 1988. Hisham Tan\u2019s vision, direction, commitment, passion and drive<br> have notably led MFBEA beyond Malaysia\u2019s borders since its establishment in 1988.<br><br> Worthy mentions are Hisham heading MFBEA as co-founding member towards the inception<br> of the International Food and Beverage Association (IFBA) in September 2012. As current VP<br> for the Asia region with responsibilities that include membership drive, Hisham contributed to<br> IFBA\u2019s global expansion which now spans Asia and Europe, making IFBA the principal<br> platform for the collective benefit and growth of the F&amp;B Service Industry.<br><br> In March 2019, a MOU was inked for the formation of the ASEAN Restaurant Associations\u2019<br> Alliance (ARAA), initiating a timely collaboration between MFBEA and the Industry<br> associations of Malaysia\u2019s neighbouring countries.<br><br> Establishment of the MFBEA Culinary Division in April 2019 is Hisham\u2019s latest coup, as a<br> complementing platform to ensure cohesive synergy between kitchen and service crews, and<br> to provide recognition for the Industry\u2019s young and potential culinary practitioners and students.<br> <br>Hisham Tan\u2019s day job is as the AVP of OSHE, Hospitality, F&amp;B for MEASAT Broadcast<br> Network Systems Sdn Bhd better known as ASTRO, where his vast job scope entails<br> delivering and maintaining premium quality management in F&amp;B products and services,<br> encompassing related internal and external ancillary tasks for all ASTRO satellite properties<br> within the Klang Valley.<br><br> A strong advocate of strategic collaborations, Hisham Tan Abdullah also sits on the Boards of<br> Studies for many of the reputed Hospitality Schools in Malaysia, consults regularly with various<br> government agencies on matters related to Tourism, Services &amp; Hospitality, and is actively<br> involved in carrying out assessments for establishments.
