Datuk (Dr) Redzuawan Ismail, popularly known as Chef Wan has numerous\nachievements and has received many awards. In recent years, at the World\nGourmand Food and Media Awards in Beijing 2007, Chef Wan was awarded the\nLifetime Jury Award \u201cat the Le Mazille Prix\u201d. In the same year, he also\nreceived the Prominent Modern Malay Chef Award by UiTM, Pulau Pinang, the\nHonorary Fellowship Award from Thames Valley University of London School of\nHospitality and was also chosen as one of the eight most outstanding Malaysian\nof the year in celebration of Malaysia\u2019s 50th Independence Day by NTV7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
His\nresponse to receiving these awards \u2026 \u201cIt\u2019s<\/em>\na complete surprise, this is such a prestigious award. Am I\ndreaming? There are so many other chefs like Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson and\nmany more that equally deserve this. I am very grateful and honoured to receive\nsuch an award and to have been internationally recognized<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2009, he received an AMP\nAward from the King of Majapahit, Keraton Palace, Suraharta Hadiningrat, Jawa,\nIndonesia. In addition, he was also awarded \u2018The Best Celebrity Chef in the\nworld Award\u2019 in the World Gourmand Cookbook & Media Awards in Paris. In\n2010, he was bestowed with the \u2018Friends of Thailand Award\u2019 from the Royal\nkingdom of Thailand. He was also appointed as the Food Ambassador of Malaysia\nby the Minister of Tourism, Malaysia. In 2012, he achieved The Lifetime\nAchievement Award for South East Asia Cuisine\u201d under the Hospitality and Dining\nAwards 2011\/2012 category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Jan 27, 2019, Chef Wan has was awarded the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP), by Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, which carries the title Datuk.
