The first dinner of the year is always an important social occasion for No Address Society members as it is a time to catch up on what the year holds for them, business prospects and to generally enjoy each other’s company.
Simply known as The First Dinner 2019, the event was held on February 27th, 2019 at YE ZI at The Roof, First Avenue, adjacent to 1 Utama. This suburban steamboat restaurant occupies a prime position, perched high above Bandar Utama in western Kuala Lumpur.
The elevated position and aspect, best admired from the open verandah, appealed to NAS members who arrived early just as the sun was setting. Many made a note that booking a balcony table here was essential on their next visit to ensure the best views.
YE ZI hosted the venue and an extensive selection of premium steamboat items for an interactive and engaging dinner. The restaurant’s concept is inspired by a famous hotpot restaurant in Shenzhen in China and YE ZI sets itself apart from the competition by serving original coconut broth as the essential ingredient to its steamboat delights. Some 40 NAS members attended this uplifting evening and dined on premium steamboat items such as seafood, top grade sliced beef and a delicious selection of vegetables. Patrons appreciated that the fish balls, pastes and dumplings are all made on the premises using superior ingredients many of which are produced organically.
There was an equally generous pour of Heineken beer, whisky and wines. Bar staff from Signature, The Roof prepared some superb cocktails such as mojito, margarita and Tequila Sunrise.
Another highlight of the evening was the releasing of balloons from the balcony carrying the personal wishes of each NAS member across the Bandar Utama skies and into the setting sun.
