Tech Talk – Creative Destruction by No Address Society

Entitled, ‘Creative Destruction for Your Business’ event by NAS (No Address Society) was held on 13th June 2018, involved a tech talk with KPLAY, a company that specialises in programming and software development. The purpose of the presentation was to introduce the concept of Big Data, Gamification, and Chatbots and emphasise their importance in the industry. 

It was an opportunity to introduce NAS members to the idea of a joint venture between WAP and KPLAY – KWAPPLAY, and a platform to begin discussions for customised technical systems created by KWAPPLAY for the hospitality industry. 

KWAPPLAY’s concept, said to be a step forward into the digital age, utilises Chatbot software instead of app-creation for businesses to provide highly intelligent and smart services to end-customers. Instead of customers having to install and store individual applications for each business they subscribe to, Chatbots can be integrated into pre-existing social media applications, allowing businesses to reach a wider audience, gauge the profile of their customers, and provide unrivalled personalisation of services. 

Members enjoyed the dinner and presentation at the New World Petaling Jaya Hotel. Here, Chef Alex Chong and his team prepared an enticing Malaysian buffet with many popular delights. A more intimate follow up dinner was held for those who could not attend the NAS dinner. This was conducted at KPLAY’s theatre in their Solaris office. Subsequently, WAP has begun speaking to interested hospitality players about the creation of a new system for the industry.
