Manhattan in the Regent Singapore is an elegant old-world bar rated as Asia’s best and number three in the world (World’s Best Bars). In a glamorous yet modern space reminiscent of old New York, craft bartending meets artisanal spirits. Manhattan exudes an upscale contemporary feel with luxuriously upholstered leather chairs and sofas plus walls lined with patterned woven linen. More than 300 illuminated bottles make a dramatic backdrop against which bartenders perform. Featuring over 100 American oak barrels, the world’s first in-hotel rickhouse is housed here. It is used to finish whiskies and other spirits as well as to age bitters and single-cask cocktails. A one-of-its-kind, Ingredients Room showcases a collection of unusual global ingredients, along with a curated selection of fine artisanal spirits and old recipes. Notable cocktails include a unique solera-aged Negroni, the housemade traditional rock and rye and a first-of-its-kind trolley service that elevates the classic Manhattan cocktail by blending rare and house-finished spirits, artisanal vermouths, and a unique collection of bitters to each guest’s palate. Manhattan also works with a local microbrewery to develop an exclusive knickerbocker lager. In addition, Manhattan invites guests to enjoy the world of American whiskies through its American Whiskey Embassy Programme featuring over 150 bottles of whiskies. These are housed in the Whiskey Glasshouse, a space within the Ingredients Room. This intimate place offers daily ‘violet’ hours (happy hours with appetisers) and a Sunday cocktail brunch. Chefs serve gourmet bar bites that reflect New York’s cultural melting and complement the beverages.
