Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts, an upscale brand within AccorHotels, has raised its first flag in the Maldives in opening Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives on a private island in Noonu Atoll. Located 45 minutes by seaplane from them capital, Malé it features 105 villas and suites comprising 72 overwater pool villas, 30 beach pool suites and three beach spa pool residences, each with their own private plunge pool.
The property features four dining experiences including the market-style all-day diner, ONU Marché Restaurant and bar, with buffet and à la carte dishes made from locally sourced produce; Mövenpick Coffee and Wine Lounge, serving a range of coffees, chocolates, ice-creams and wines; as well as the pool-side restaurant Latitude 5.5. Seafood lovers relish the selection of fresh catches at the overwater Bodumas Seafood Restaurant.
Mövenpick Chocolate Hour, a key brand signature, is staged daily in the lobby, offering guests complimentary chocolate, presented in novel ways. The property also hosts a range of facilities including a dive centre, tennis court, gym, water sports centre and the Sun Spa by Esthederm.
Another outstanding feature is the exclusive beach pool spa residence with a spacious living area and the ideal venue for small weddings and private gatherings of up to 20 guests. Part of AccorHotels, Mövenpick has some 80 properties in 24 countries and is the world’s most Green Globe certified hotel brand. Its opening adds to AccorHotels’ growing portfolio in The Maldives with Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi and the Raffles Maldives Meradhoo.
The resort is also accessible by a 15-minute speedboat ride from the new airport on Maafaru island in Noonu atoll, which opened in early 2019.
