Six Senses Maxwell has just opened in Singapore’s historic Tanjong Pagar district to accompany the nearby Six Senses Duxton property. Originally the site of a nutmeg plantation, 14 three-storey and four-storey colonial-styled 19thcentury buildings were subsequently constructed and later joined together as a single entity to create a heritage building that now houses the hotel. Remastered by renowned French architect and interior designer Jacques Garcia, the heritage property accommodates 138 guest rooms and suites located across four floors of the restored building. All are decorated with custom furnishings and original artwork.
Each room is designed to pay homage to the building’s storied past, yet still presenting Garcia’s affirmed baroque style. Facilities include an outdoor rooftop lap pool, a gymnasium, two restaurants and three bars. Guests arrive into the glamorous lobby and public areas lined with an especially curated library of some of the most meaningful books ever written. Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas operates two hotels, 15 resorts and 31 spas in 21 countries under the brand names Six Senses, Evason and Six Senses Spas. All properties share a leadership commitment to community, sustainability, wellness and design, infused with a touch of quirkiness.
